Dal posteggio sulla Via Aurelia, situato vicino al Residence Colibrì, gestito da
Luca e la sua famiglia, si prosegue a piedi sulla strada principale per pochi metri,
direzione nord/nord-ovest. Presso la prima curva sono evidenti le indicazioni per
la Chiesa di SS Cosma e Damiano, classico segnavia bianco e rosso. Si sale
rapidamente e ci si addentra nella pineta sovrastante il porto di Loano. In 15
minuti si arriva allo spiazzo della chiesa dove un bellissimo panorama è pronto ad
accogliervi. Subito a fianco della chiesa trovate un cartello che illustra la zona.
Proseguiti dritti attraversando fasce di ulivi e superando due cancelletti (che
vanno sempre richiusi dopo il vostro passaggio) troverete un bivio. La via più
semplice è sulla sinistra, anche se passando per il Bric 5 alberi un altro panorama
mozzafiato si aprirà davanti a voi.
Un altro spiazzo ben segnalato vi porterà a prendere la seconda via sulla destra,
direzione Ranzi. Attraversato il caratteristico borgo, presso un ulteriore
pannello indicativo, si prende a destra un sentiero che sale con diverse svolte,
fiancheggiando alcune grandi vasche per la raccolta dell'acqua. Il sentiero, a
tratti con fondo roccioso, tra magnifici scorci panoramici, si innesta più avanti su
più larga sterrata.
Si prosegue su questa in salita, sino ad un successivo bivio. Si va a destra, in
leggera discesa per poi continuare pressoché in piano. In lontananza appare il
M.te Carmo, su cui splende la croce di vetta.
Si prosegue sull'itinerario principale, ignorando alcuni bivi, sino a pervenire su
ulteriore più ampia sterrata.
Poco oltre, sulla sinistra, una stradina sbarrata consente di raggiungere in breve
il panoramico poggio S. Martino, con la bella omonima Chiesetta, nonché i ruderi
più antichi, presso il cippo eretto a ricordo degli Alpini caduti.
Proseguendo ulteriormente si incontra l'ampia sterrata proveniente da Verzi. La
si segue per breve tratto per deviare poi a sinistra, dove si incontra la prima delle
grandi caselle: " U Cabanun", risalente al secolo XVIII.
La particolarità di tale manufatto è la costruzione interamente in pietra, senza
uso di malta, con una tecnica ed una abilità di posa tali da impedire infiltrazioni
ed umidità all'interno. Le sue eccezionali dimensioni sono dovute al fatto che, in
caso di maltempo, veniva utilizzato come ricovero anche per i muli con il carico di
fieno, oltre che per i loro conducenti.
Un successivo tratto di sentiero dal caratteristico fondo in acciottolato ancora
ben conservato, rende l'idea di come fosse in origine tale percorso.
Dopo essere transitati in una zona boschiva, si incontra una più ampia stradina
presso un quadrivio. Si prosegue seguendo gli evidenti segnavia, superando poco
oltre una sbarra che impedisce il transito ai mezzi motorizzati.
Con costante lunga salita, dopo diverse svolte, si incrocia l'itinerario "giallorosso"
delle Terre Alte, dopodiché si raggiunge un largo pianoro in cui sorge una
ulteriore grande "casella", presso un dismesso ricovero per animali.
Poco oltre si trova al bel Rifugio di Pian delle Bosse. Si dovrà tornare indietro
ripercorrendo la stessa strada. Una valida alternativa è scegliere di lasciare una
seconda auto presso il parcheggio della castagna in località Castagnabanca a
Verzi di Loano. Dal rifugio Pian Delle Bosse, con solo 30 minuti di percorrenza,
seguendo le indicazioni del sentiero vicino alla fontanella dell'acqua, à quindi
possibile spezzare il percorso e ritornare velocemente al punto di partenza. In
questo modo la durata dell'escursione sarà dunque di 4 ore complessive.
